PROGRAM VOLUNTEERING:

This is an individual volunteer opportunity. Each BIO Girls program location requires two types of volunteers: Site Directors and Mentors.

  • Site DirectorsEach BIO Girls program location requires 2 volunteers to lead their community’s BIO Girls season and facilitate the lessons.

  • Mentors Each BIO Girls program location requires 10 volunteer mentors to lead small group discussions and participate in the physical activity.

EVENT VOLUNTEERING:

This is an individual, group or business volunteering opportunity. BIO Girls has a handful of events in Fargo, ND each year that we require many helping hands to bring them to life:

We also have opportunities throughout the year to lend a hand with programming projects: packing programming totes, writing thank-yous, sorting supplies, and more! See all volunteer openings.

SUPPORT OUR MISSION:

The BIO Girls’ mission is to increase the self-esteem of adolescent girls. Join the community of businesses and individuals who not only believe in putting an end to the self-esteem crisis in adolescent girls but are the first to take action to help us grow through monetary generosity.

  1. Become a Faithful Friend!

    • Faithful Friends is our generous group of monthly givers. Their financial support empowers us to provide our proven, preventative mental wellness programming to girls in need… at no cost. With recurring monthly donations of any amount, our Faithful Friends support the BIO Girls’ scholarship fund allowing girls to participate regardless of financial barriers.

BIO Girls Site Director

BIO Girls programs are 100% volunteer-facilitated. Every program location begins with one volunteer raising their hand to bring BIO Girls to their community. These volunteers are called Site Directors. (Also known as change-makers.)

Back in 2013, BIO (Beautiful Inside & Out) Girls began as one program location in Fargo, North Dakota. BIO Girls has since grown to have program locations across the Midwest, in five states: North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

Our Site Directors:

  • Advocate for the BIO Girls mission within their community

  • Plan their program’s details

  • Lead their community’s BIO Girls program

Smiles, relationships, growth, fear, success, tears, and laughter are a few of the reasons why I love this program. Bringing young girls and women together to build confidence, perseverance and so much more has been one of the more meaningful and powerful things that I have done in my life.

Mentor

BIO Girls mentors leave a lasting positive impact on participants. In fact, many participants chose “relationship with mentor” as one of their favorite things about BIO Girls!

Each BIO Girls program requires several volunteer mentors to successfully run the program alongside the program leader.

  • Attend all 12 BIO Girls program sessions

  • Lead small group discussion with particpants

I spent the last 12 weeks as a mentor with the BIO Girls program and all I can say is wow. My heart is so incredibly full. How lucky am I that I got to meet all of these young ladies? I know for a fact, the girls taught me more than I taught them.
