Volunteer Highlight — Kelsie Moch
Meet Kelsie Moch
BIO Girls Volunteer at Southeast Education Cooperative and BIO Girls HQ
For the past four years, Kelsie Moch has been a dedicated BIO Girls volunteer, serving at both the Southeast Education Cooperative and BIO Girls HQ—and she’s now heading into her fifth season of mentoring.
For Kelsie, volunteering with BIO Girls is more than just giving back. It’s about being part of a program that helps girls discover their worth, build unshakable confidence, and grow into the best versions of themselves.
“I support this program because I believe in the power of helping young girls build a strong foundation of self-esteem that will stay with them for life. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their confidence grow week by week as they connect with mentors and each other, gradually coming out of their shells and embracing who they are. I love learning from the girls just as much as they learn from us, and I’m inspired by their energy and resilience. Being part of a program that empowers girls to know their worth and shine unapologetically is a privilege, and I’m excited to play even a small role in their journey.”
Kelsie loves that the lessons impact not only the girls—but mentors, too. She often finds herself applying BIO Girls teachings in her own life, whether in personal challenges or professional settings.
One of her favorite mantras is short and sweet: “I got this.”
“It’s such a powerful reminder that a BIO Girl is capable of hard things. She can figure it out, lean on others if needed, and trust in her own strength. She’s got it.”
Kelsie has also witnessed countless moments where the lessons come alive, but one stands out in particular. At this year’s Find Your Kind 5K, she ran alongside a participant from her site who, without hesitation, invited another struggling girl from a different site to join them. Together, the girls encouraged one another, turned discouragement into joy, and crossed the finish line side by side.
“It felt like watching 12 weeks of lessons unfold in a single moment. That’s what BIO Girls is all about—lifting each other up, no matter the circumstance.”
For Kelsie, the ripple effect of BIO Girls extends far beyond the program’s 12 weeks.
“I catch myself using the lessons and mantras in everyday life—whether I’m supporting a friend, helping a coworker, or navigating my own challenges. BIO Girls has truly become part of how I show up in the world.”
We’re so grateful for Kelsie’s heart, wisdom, and leadership. Her dedication is helping to shape a generation of girls who believe in themselves, lean into community, and confidently say, “I got this.”
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
