Volunteer Highlight — Kiera Willis
Meet Kiera Willis
BIO Girls Volunteer in Thompson, ND
We’re thrilled to highlight Kiera Willis, who is currently serving her third year as a Junior Mentor at the BIO Girls Thompson site! Kiera’s heart for this mission and passion for helping young girls grow in faith and confidence truly shines in all she does.
For Kiera, volunteering with BIO Girls is all about pouring love and truth into the next generation. She’s especially drawn to the way the program helps girls recognize their worth, identity, and strength.
“I volunteer with BIO Girls because of the mission and what all of the volunteers work to install into the girls in our communities. In my time with BIO Girls, I want to be able to show girls how strong they are and how loved they are. Getting to help teach the word of the Lord and that each of them is special and unique with such a big purpose is truly one of my favorite parts of the organization.”
Favorite Mantra?
“I am enough. It’s so simple, yet it means so much and can have such a big impact. I think one of the most important things a person can learn is that they are enough. Getting to speak that truth into the lives of young girls in our community is truly so important to me.”
Watching the girls’ growth is what fills Kiera’s heart week after week. She especially loves seeing their confidence bloom—like the moment they cross the finish line of the 5K with beaming smiles and a new belief in themselves.
“They go from not believing they can run a 5K to completing it with smiles on their faces. That mindset shift is amazing to witness.”
As a former BIO Girl herself, Kiera’s connection to the program runs deep. What started with a love for running has grown into a deep appreciation for the life-changing lessons shared each week.
“BIO Girls will always hold a special place in my heart. I was in it all throughout elementary and at the time, my favorite part was the running. After becoming a Junior Mentor, I learned how important the lessons are. Getting to watch the girls' confidence grow throughout the season is so so special. These lessons teach the young girls in our community so much in helping them learn to be confident in their abilities and to love themselves for who they are, and I truly believe I still am learning from the lessons each week.”
Thank you, Kiera, for your continued commitment and the joy you bring to BIO Girls! Your leadership, compassion, and authenticity are making a real difference.
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
