Our magical evening kicked off when we rolled out the red carpet!

All glammed up, our guests posed for some red carpet photos. The outfits were magnificent. A giant thank you goes out to our wonderful volunteer photographer, Lexi Hovland. She captured our entire event in the most powerful, meaningful way.

Guests then strolled through a visual display of BIO Girls over the past nine years, thanks to Office Sign Company. BIO Girls began with just 40 participants at a single site here in Fargo, ND.

Thanks to Joe and the Avalon, our event set-up was breathtaking.

Our program began with our volunteer event committee chairs, Molly Fuschel and Britt Ingersol welcoming our guests with a game! Thank you to Molly, Britt and our entire event committee: Mary Roehl, Mallory Brown, Ashley Bosh & Kriss Burns.

Then the show began! Thanks to Brian and Mobile Pro for making our production, lighting, and overall program a dream come true!

FM Aerial & Movement Arts and Honeysuckle Hooping nailed the opening number. We are still in awe of the talent and choreography getting our audience on the edge of their seats!

Scott Holdman and Kelsey Buell took over from there! Girl dad Scott, and volunteer BIO Girls mentor Kelsey created the perfect duo to be our emcees. Thank you both for your powerful illustration of the BIO Girls mission and why we exist.

Scott said it best:

“Modern living has amplified ancient feelings of being less than.

We watch our young ones suffer spiraling negative thoughts of comparison, not being good enough, and struggling with being anything other than what God has made them.

If you've ever prayed that someone or something would just do something about this downward spiral of negative self-views. Someone has. Her name is Missy Heilman, and the organization is BIO Girls. And you see why in this video.”

Thanks to Off Color Media for this impactful video!

Finally, BIO Girls Founder and Executive Director, Missy Heilman, shared the BIO Girls strategic plan publicly for the first time.

BIO Girls has set the
bold goal to impact
1 in 6 North Dakota girls
annually by 2025.

That equates to 3,500 girls in North Dakota, annually. Not to mention the 1,000s of girls we’ll be reaching in neighboring states.

Our auctioneer, Andy Westby, kicked off our Fund My Future portion of the program, where our audience rallied together to support our dream big goal. Accompanied by Tyler Hoverson & Kensey Knight singing “A Million Dreams”, pledge cards were raised, packages were auctioned off (including Missy’s mom’s famous carrot cake — thanks Sharon!) and the magic filled the Avalon that evening.

We are overjoyed. Our hearts are exploding with gratitude.

The BIO Girls mission is to increase the self-esteem in adolescent girls — a mission that is too important to fail. Our fundraising goal for this evening was vastly exceeded — we raised around $210,000. The Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community is one of a kind. The generosity of the people and businesses that reside here? It is unmatched. The dollars we raised will go directly towards our strategic goal of impacting 1 in 6 ND girls annually by 2025. That is nearly a 300% increase from our current impact in our state… and we’re ready for it. Thank you, thank you, thank you from everyone at BIO Girls.

Until next year.
