Meet the Panel
Moderator
Philanthropy means love of humanity. Scott Holdman helps people practice it by guiding givers toward meaning and the causes they support toward momentum.
As founder of Legacy Logic, a bespoke philanthropic advisory firm in Fargo, North Dakota, Scott has spent 22 years coaching more than 500 nonprofit leaders and shaping capital campaigns representing hundreds of millions of dollars in regional impact. He is a TEDx speaker and has been awarded Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) of the Year by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

Jonathan Berntson is a licensed professional mental health counselor with a focus on child development, family dynamics, and the emotional well-being. With over 8 years of clinical experience, he has worked with countless families to help strengthen parent-child relationships and promote healthy emotional growth. He is particularly passionate about the role fathers and father-figures play in shaping a young girl’s sense of identity, confidence, and resilience. He is a father to two young girls and along with his wife, lives in Fargo.
Johnathan Berntson, LPCC
Dan Tinquist, Founder and CEO of Confidad, aims to create a space for men to discuss the challenges of fatherhood. Confidad is a coaching platform developed from Dan's realization that he was prioritizing his career over family. After a decade as a worship director, he built Confidad to help fathers understand their children's needs and become better dads through group coaching and mentoring. This initiative has positively impacted fathers in five states, making them more present and less stressed. Based in Moorhead, MN, Dan has been married since 2010 and is a father of four hockey-playing boys.
Dan Tinquist
Marcus, the Chief Marketing Officer at Scheels for 12 years, has 19 years of experience with the company. Originally from western Wisconsin, he served in the U.S. Army from 1992 to 1996 and later attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. With over 27 years in retail, he enjoys improving his golf game, expanding his wine collection, studying history—especially WWII—and traveling. He and his wife, Shannon, have lived in the FM area since 2007 and are now "empty nesters" with two grown children, Rylyn and Jaedyn.
Marcus Thornton
Dr. Dhilhan Marasinghe, MD, is a general pediatrician at Essentia Health who has devoted his career to nurturing the health and well-being of children. He has an interest in community medicine and works closely with local organizations and schools to meet their specific medical needs. He also works closely with families and schools to counter the growing mental health crisis in our adolescent population. He believes strongly in the importance of family, engagement, and faith in our children's lives. He has a loving wife, a 2-year-old son, and a 4-year-old daughter who acts like a teenager.
