“Creativity is contagious, Pass it on”

As the impact of BIO Girls continues to spread throughout the Midwest, reaching over 3,000 girls annually, we are excited to pilot a new program type: BIO Girls - Art, presented by Marvin.

BIO Girls - Art will follow our research-driven and proven confidence-building curriculum facilitated by volunteer mentors, replacing traditional physical activities (running, yoga, or cross-training) with creative arts!

The art program will be available to girls in 2nd through 6th grade. Participants will be introduced to a new art medium each week to further their creative skills.

At the end of the 12-week program, participants will host an art showcase for their friends and family highlighting their favorite pieces from the program while also creating a piece of artwork ‘live’ while the showcase is taking place.

“We are thrilled to launch and pilot our art-based curriculum here in Fargo this spring! We believe this will give all girls the opportunity to participate in our preventative mental wellness program despite any physical challenges they may face. We are looking forward to fine-tuning the program through this process and EVENTUALLY making it available to additional communities throughout the Midwest.”

– Missy Heilman, BIO Girls Founder & CEO

“One of our values is to think differently as remarkable things happen when folks are empowered to act on their spirit of ingenuity. By supporting BIO Girls in this pilot art program, we hope adolescent girls not only improve their self-esteem but develop their creativity, courage, and confidence.” – Cairn Reisch, Community Relations Manager
