Volunteer Highlight — Amanda Jacobson

Meet Amanda Jacobson!

Amanda Jacobson is a Mentor at our Abercrombie/Colfax, ND site. She has been volunteering with BIO Girls since 2019! We are so inspired by Amanda’s continuous generosity.

Amanda– thank you! Our team, the girls you have made an impact on, and the Abercrombie/Colfax community sincerely thank you.

  • What is your favorite lesson or mantra?

    • “Kindness is Contagious!”

  • Why do you love volunteering for BIO Girls?

    • “I volunteer because as a teacher I see firsthand how relationships and self-esteem can impact a young girl's life. I mentor to help girls grow in their faith and relationship with God and each other. I mentor in hopes that I can be a positive role model and develop deeper relationships with the girls that I see every day in school and my community. I mentor so that my two sons can see the importance of healthy habits and relationships. I mentor to give girls an opportunity I wish i had when I was younger."

  • Do you have an impactful story to share from your volunteer experience?

    • “I love when participants can share stories of how they applied a skill/skills they learned during BIO Girls!”
