BIO Girls Volunteer in Traverse County

We often say our dedicated volunteers are the heart and soul of BIO Girls. The sentiment couldn’t be more true for Traverse County mentor, Amy, who’s been pouring into our mission for over 5 years!

For Amy, she continues to serve as a mentor as she loves the positive impact and image BIO Girls bestows on the young girls throughout programming and beyond.

When it comes to her favorite lesson, it’s an easy choice: Perfectly Imperfect.

“This lesson is a great reminder to not only the girls, but also us Mentors, that we are all perfect in our own special ways. even if we have what we would consider to be imperfections in our lives!”

When reflecting on the past five years, Amy is positive the program has made just as much of a positive change in her life as it has for the numerous girls she’s had the pleasure of mentoring over the years.

She loves seeing her previous BIO Girls out in the community! Whether it’s a quick smile and hello, or a longer conversation, re-connecting is what she describes as a great feeling.

“Those are the moments when you know your work as a volunteer has made an impact.”

We couldn’t agree more on those special moments, Amy!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you’ve done for the BIO Girls program in your community of Traverse County! We are so grateful for you!!
