Volunteer Highlight — Bridget Mattern

Meet Bridget Mattern!

Bridget Mattern is our Site Director at our Emmons County, ND site. She has been volunteering with BIO Girls since 2017! We are so inspired by Bridget’s continuous generosity.

Bridget – thank you! Our team, the girls you have made an impact on, and the Emmons County community sincerely thank you.

  • What is your favorite lesson or mantra?

    • “Perfectly Imperfect or Live to Serve.”

  • Why do you love volunteering for BIO Girls?

    • “It is an amazing program that is proactive in helping girls deal with lifelong lessons as they grow. The curriculum is at their level and uses examples that are real-life and relatable to the girls so it. It is so rewarding to watch the growth in the girls every year."

  • Do you have an impactful story to share from your volunteer experience?

    • “Every season there is always a participant breakthrough so there is more than one story. You see girls that make friendships and interact outside of BIO Girls. Girls that are quiet being more confident. Girls that wouldn't run any amount that end up running the whole 5K. Mentor and Participant bonds that grow beyond BIO Girls.”
