Meet Danielle Schantz

BIO Girls Volunteer Marketing Lead in Thief River Falls, Minnesota

We are celebrating five whole years of service with Thief River Falls Marketing Lead, Danielle Schantz. Danielle has been a coach and teacher for 19 years and loves the opportunity to work with students from all ages, being a bright spot in their day. BIO Girls fits right in!

Danielle loves how this program equips young girls with so many valuable tools to help them navigate friendships and life—both now and in the future. But for Danielle, being a part of BIO Girls is also an opportunity to see the program work for her own daughter.

“I have also seen firsthand the countless lessons my own daughter has gained from participating in the program over the past two years. She continues to repeat the positive mantras she learned, even long after the BIO Girls season has ended.”

One of Danielle’s favorite sessions focuses on self-worth and self-kindness, reinforcing the importance of embracing who you are and showing yourself grace.

One of her favorite mantras is: “Perfectly Imperfect.”

“I love this mantra because it reminds the girls to love themselves exactly as they are.”

Danielle absolutely loves the 5K finale especially the way the Thief River Falls community shows up for the girls.

“Every year, our community shows up in an incredible way—lining the route, cheering them on, holding signs, and playing music. The energy is powerful. I tear up every time, seeing so many people come together in support of these girls. It’s a beautiful visual of the strength of a community. The race also gives the girls a chance to showcase how hard they’ve worked in their training, and the pride they feel in accomplishing such a meaningful milestone is truly inspiring.”

Danielle, we can’t thank you enough for the incredible role you play in the lives of BIO Girls (and students) in your community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

How can I get involved?

We have a variety of ways you can support a BIO Girls program.

We can’t wait to connect with you and see how we can partner together for girls in your community.
