Meet Jenna Griffey!

Jenna is our site director in Fargo, ND, at our BNG location. Jenna enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community. We are so grateful for all she does for the BIO Girls mission! Jenna hopes each BIO Girl knows she is important, that she matters, and that an entire community of people is cheering her on!

We asked Jenna a few questions about her involvement with BIO Girls:

What do you do for work?

“New Home Consultant - Jordahl Custom Homes.”

Can you share an impactful story from your volunteer experience?

“There are just too many to name! I ran my first 5k ever in Spring of 2021 with my squad. The energy was out of this world. I wanted to cry tears of joy when each girl accomplished something they had worked towards for 12 weeks. This past season I had a handful of girls who were scared or just didn't want to be there. Each week they showed up. Each week they learned, they grew, they made friends, and became stronger. At the end of the season there was a level of self confidence in each girl that wasn't present at the beginning. That to me is a treasure I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life. This program is truly needed and timely. There is proof week after week. It's also been amazing to share the mission of BIO girls with people who have never heard of it. The conversation usually always ends with, "gosh, I wish I would have had BIO Girls when I that age."

Favorite lesson or mantra?

“Be yourself, not your selfie!”

Why do you volunteer with BIO Girls?

“To impact the next generation. My hope is that each BIO Girl knows she is important, that she matters, and that there is an entire community of people cheering her on! BIO Girls gain skills that will help them for the rest of their life. I wish I would have been able to have something like this when I was a kid.”

Would you recommend volunteering?

“Always - volunteering is good for the heart and it’s important to give back to the community. She wants to lend a hand up for the next generation - these girls are forming the future for us. She is passionate about overcoming body image issues and the core components of BIO Girls resonate with everyone.”
