Volunteer Highlight — Whitney Isaacson
Meet Whitney Isaacson
BIO Girls Volunteer at Fargo - Dakota Medical Foundation
Whitney celebrates her fourth year mentoring over the course of six different program types in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area. We are so lucky to have this faith-filled volunteer choosing to give her time to BIO Girls.
“I volunteer because I believe in building up the next generation of strong faith filled women who know who they are in Christ and continue to walk with the Lord their whole life! And I am passionate about lowering the scary statistics of adolescent girls' mental health.”
Whitney shares not only being rooted in Christ but also the reminder of how we can create peace within ourselves.
“Peace begins with me" because it is so special to listen to the girls be vulnerable and open up about their anxieties at such a young age, but then learn tools to cope with anxious thoughts and leave the session empowered. This is such an important life lesson for every stage of life and especially important to teach at a young age to build resilient women!”
Spending intentional time with the girls is one of Whitney’s favorite parts of the program. You never know what kind of breakthrough you will have with a participant.
“I truly love the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with the girls who maybe don't have any meaningful adult connections. I have had the chance to breakthrough with girls who otherwise would have been more quiet in the group by spending intentional time and building trust with them. I love seeing them come out of their shell and be who God called them to be.”
Whitney, thank you for your bold years of service and also the special treat of hearing you speak about why girls need BIO Girls. We are truly blessed and grateful to have you part of this mission. Thank you!
