You Be You 2019

Friday, April 5th was a night to remember. It was a night of support for the nearly 1,200 girls that will be impacted this year and the 2,200 girls that will be impacted next year by the BIO Girls program. We are so grateful for the nearly 400 guests (young and old) that attended, 35+ volunteers that made the evening run seamlessly, 30 businesses that sponsored tables, and the 8 women who gave many hours serving on the event committee. Thank you, thank you.

The evening was a whirlwind of fun and inspiration as Carrie Tollefson encouraged us all to not be afraid to succeed and to get after it. She commentated her Olympic trials 1500 race in which she narrowly pulled out a victory as the dark horse not picked to finish in the top 3. She shared that she lost many more races than she ever won, but encouraged us all to not get down by our 'losses' but instead use them as to learn and grow, just as she did in racing.

Gabby Wolf, a 7th grader from Moorhead, shared how BIO Girls has impacted her life. We were all in awe of her courage to tell us the friend struggles she experienced in 6th grade; and how being a BIO Girl helped her realize what true friendship really is. She also praised her mentor, Kate, for helping her through the struggles.

Finally, because of the generosity of our guests, we are oh-so-close to funding the Be You journals for ALL BIO Girls in 2020. This was a new addition to the program in 2019 and has been met with rave reviews. The journals help bring consistency across all programs locations, allow girls to express themselves in multiple ways, and help the participants reflect on their gratitude, goals and key points from each lesson. If you would like to help sponsor journals ($8 each) for 2020, please click here.

Minute-to-win-it games, silent auction, Dippin' Dots, an electric scooter, Diamond earrings, cash...it was all great fun for a great cause. Visit our About page to see announcement for You Be You 2020!

Thank you again and we will see you in 2020!
