Find Your Kind 5K & Youth Run
To someone driving by The Lights in West Fargo last Wednesday, April 29th, it might have looked like any other community race. People crossing the finish line. Spectators cheering. Smiles all around. But trust us when we say it was so much more than a race happening that evening.
It was our BIO Girls 7th Annual Find Your Kind 5K & Youth Run, presented by BCBSND Caring Foundation. And the moments we witnessed weren’t created in a single evening. They were built over 12 sessions where girls learned powerful lessons in self-worth, resilience, and connection.
Those moments happened because a community came together in support of the next generation of girls. They happened because of incredible generosity and the unwavering dedication of volunteers (so many volunteers!) who made it all possible.
If you weren’t able to join us, here’s a recap of all the amazing work that went into this annual event.
It all starts the day before at our expo where businesses across the area set up their booths and welcomed BIO Girls, mentors, and community runners as they picked up their race bags and prepped for the big event!
Events like this aren’t possible without incredible volunteers who showed up (and bundled up) to help celebrate the mission of protecting and improving mental health in adolescent girls. Special thanks to Heather’s Housekeeping for being our water station volunteers!

The signage for this event was larger than life! Literally. Banners hanging from the top of the parking ramp. Windows covered in joy. Mantra decals along the race route. The incredible signage was donated by Sign Badgers and installed by Impact Graphix. We can’t thank them enough for making this event look so beautiful.

This year’s Youth Run sponsored by Valley Christian Counseling! It’s so fun to see the determination across their faces and we know there are some future BIO Girls in the mix!
After the littles completed their race, we called up each of our participating BIO Girls programs to the starting line. One by one, each program sent their groups out onto the course where goals were met and the power of self-belief shone through.
The grand finale was our community runners! Open to everyone, these individuals sign up to run/jog/walk in support of our mission. They rounded out our event for the day.
