BIO Girls Begins - Teaching Girls to Believe in Themselves

In Fargo, North Dakota, girls are facing numerous challenges in today's world. However, starting on January 16th, registration opens for a program aimed at helping young girls develop stronger self-esteem, regardless of societal pressures. The nonprofit organization BIO Girls is offering its 2024 program for girls in second to sixth grade. This program focuses on enhancing self-esteem through avenues unrelated to physical appearance.

Disturbing statistics reveal that 45 percent of North Dakota girls experience bullying, over half struggle with poor body image, and one in three faces mental health issues. BIO Girls addresses these issues by incorporating physical activity, fostering healthy relationships, engaging in public service, and other methods to emphasize inner beauty and self-worth before adolescence diminishes them. Additionally, BIO Girls offers programs for girls up to 17 years old, with registration based on a pay-as-you-can model.

Missy Heilman, the founder and CEO of BIO Girls, conducted a live interview to discuss the concerning statistics, the interventions provided by BIO Girls programs, and how to enroll your daughter in the program.
