Volunteer Highlight — Frannie Langemo
Nicole Cook (SD) and Frannie Langemo (ML)
Meet Frannie Langemo
BIO Girls Volunteer in Win-E-Mac, Minnesota
Frannie first joined BIO Girls as a volunteer because she saw a need in her community. She continues to be a part of the program because she’s seen the program work. Now celebrating her fourth season, Frannie wants girls to be able to participate as long as possible.
“The burden our young girls feel from peers and social media is consistently getting bigger and harder for girls to overcome on their own and I believe with the work of BIOGirls we can help girls.”
Mondays aren’t always someone’s favorite day of the week. But for Frannie, the 12 weeks spent with BIO Girls, make each Monday the best day of the week. Spending time with the participants and mentors, doing the lessons, and enjoying the workouts make the time fly by according to Frannie.
Frannie is especially excited for their 2026 season for some pretty special reasons.
“I am super excited about this season because I finally have my daughters involved! My oldest daughter Ella was too old for BIOGirls when we started and my youngest daughter Magnolia was too young! When Nicole and I started our site, neither of us had a daughter involved but wanted this for our community- she as a daycare provider saw the need and myself as an elementary teacher and parent of an older elementary student saw the need. This year my daughter Ella is a Junior Mentor and my daughter Magnolia is a participant.”
Frannie has a list of favorite mantras but “Live to Serve” and “Progress over Perfection” are two that Frannie is working on in her own life as an adult. And while she has seen some incredible transformations of the girls who come through their program, Frannie also has found so much value in the program for herself.
“I have also seen so much change and growth in myself! I wanted and continue to want to be the best version of myself because I am a lead of this program. I have dug into my faith more, I have worked on acceptance and patience within my life as well as focusing on the relationships I have and where there are red and green flags as well.”
Frannie, we are incredibly grateful you continue to say yes to leading BIO Girls in Win-E-Mac. Your dedication and advocacy of the program are so appreciated. We are lucky to work alongside you on this mission!!
How can I get involved?
We have a variety of ways for people to get involved with BIO Girls. We can’t wait to connect with you and see where we can make an impact in your community together!
