Volunteer Highlight — Macy Kraemer

Meet MACY KRAEMER!

Macy Kraemer is our Site Director at our Fargo, ND - HQ site. She has been volunteering with BIO Girls since 2019! We are so inspired by Macy’s continuous generosity.

Macy – thank you! Our team, the girls you have made an impact on, and the Fargo community sincerely thank you.

  • What is your favorite lesson or mantra?

    • “Throw Kindness Like Confetti!”

  • Why do you love volunteering for BIO Girls?

    • “I volunteer with BIO Girls for 73,054 reasons. Maybe more. But at the very core of every reason is my belief that every girl deserves to be in an environment where they feel celebrated, confident, and capable– and each year BIO Girls volunteers provide thousands of girls, exactly that."

  • Do you have an impactful story to share from your volunteer experience?

    • “My very first time volunteering as a mentor, I had one participant in my small group who was as sweet as the day was long. She was quiet for most of the season. For our silly session theme, our site voted to dress up like their parents. Many dressed up in attire that reflected their parent’s professions: there were lots of scrubs, blazers, dresses, and wigs worn. This little lady dressed up as her dad by wearing her dad’s favorite Vikings hat and flip-flops. She was WILDLY excited to share with us how much of a football fan her dad was, and how she loved hanging out with him. During that same session, we reflected on the season and went around sharing why we loved BIO Girls. Her answer was ‘because it made her feel comfortable’. She reminded me of myself. The magic of BIO Girls? It’s in those little moments.”
